Updated Hair Favorites
I wholeheartedly swear to dedicate an entire tell-all post with updates on hair growth. I have been tracking my progress through photos and really am starting to see results! I'm going to wait 1-2 more months before I give you the entire rundown. I know, I know, I'm a big meanie. Until then, here are a few updates to my haircare routine that have helped me see major improvements:
Highlights vs. Balayage vs. No Dye
I've talked about dyeing my hair only 1-2x per year, but now I'm questioning if I want to do any color upkeep at all. Quinn, say what?! I spent a few years going really dark and then going really blonde. I'm sort of enjoying a more natural, 'sun-kissed' look (even though we all know that sunny blonde is bleach, girl). The bleach does give my fine hair some texture, so I'm torn. Debating on doing a balayage next hair appointment instead of my typical highlights. Thoughts?
Ouai Leave-in Conditioner.
This stuff is magic. If I have to run right from the pool to go out and I don't have time to wash my hair, this conditioner saves it. I spray it onto wet hair, detangle with a wide tooth comb, and go. Would I recommend leaving chlorine in your hair? No. But, I do recommend this sweet, sweet conditioner. I love that it's a spray applicator - makes for less of a mess (rhyming).
Wide Tooth Comb.
This tool has become my baby. You know that I'm anti-brush because of breakage. I would love to run a brush through my locks, but with my hair type, it ain't happening.
Hair Down While Sleeping.
I hate my curls tickling my neck while I sleep. It's something that has irked me my entire life. I used to love popping my hair up into what I call my 'bedtime bun' and passing out. To avoid breakage, I started wearing my hair down while I sleep (and also most of the daytime too). It has been an adjustment, but it works.
You heard it here first - the big hair growth update is coming soon(ish). Are there any questions you want answered? xx
