Try it Tuesday: NYM Curl Talk
Growing up, curly hair was social suicide. It wasn’t ‘in.’ It wasn’t ‘cool.’ It was something you would wish on your worst enemy. So, let me just begin by saying, this one’s for the curls.
It’s so difficult for me to find products that my fine, curly hair doesn’t immediately reject. When I received this package chock full of #curltalk goodies from NYM, I was immediately intrigued. Someone was speaking to my sixth grade soul. Little Quinn, hope is out there for your frizzy ringlets. Here’s what I thought about NYM’s new line, Curl Talk:
What I liked -
The smell. Sweet ‘n subtle wins the race. My husband even said it smelled good after I casually said, ‘WOW SMELLS GREAT,’ seventy times.
The curl cream. I’m not about putting extras into my hair. Mostly, I leave my conditioner on my ends and use a clarifying shampoo once a week. I was all about using oils if it seemed frizzy, but this curl cream?! Game changing. It leaves zero residue and helps form the curls framing my face.
The mousse. I haven’t used mousse since I was a sophomore in high school and I decided short curly hair was just what I needed…this time around it was a lot different. No crunch, just sweet styling. I still prefer the curl cream because it combats frizz.
Day 2 is even better. With my typical shampoo/conditioner combo, I like to wash my hair almost every day. Stop yelling at me, I know it’s wrong, but I like it. NYM allows me to go to Day 2-3 without the need for dry shampoo. Winning? Yes.
What I didn’t like -
The gel. I’m not a fan of gel to begin with - it’s just doesn’t jive with the consistency of my hair. Kind of tempted to use this when I slick my hair back though. Who uses gel - tell me your secrets?!
The verdict? I luh u, Curl Talk. As much as I love my Redken Strength, I might be alternating with NYM. Does anyone have any curl questions? I want to hear you xx
