Trips to Book Right Now in 2019

It's been more than a minute since I've posted a travel update and there’s a hodgepodge of reasons. I used to travel constantly - it had a lot to do with having a long-distance boyfriend turned fiancé and being an individual without all of the adult bills that were to come ( I'd happily travel, snap more than my fair share of photos (everyone knows I have almost 30k on my phone), and then post. More recently, while I've been away I’ve made a shift and stopped sharing as much. It took some much needed pressure off of my mini vacations. Plus, some destinations were repeats, so I didn’t want to overload you with photos. But, it seems as though you are missing travel pictures and advice, so here are trips you should plan in 2019!

If you want to relax...

Chris was kind enough to surprise me with all of the details about our honeymoon the morning after our wedding. I didn’t want to know where we were going beforehand - I just wanted to relax (with a beach!). We spent two weeks at an amazing resort in Jamaica, which seemed lavish and weirdly unlike us while we were there, but…we keep dreaming about going back now that we’re home. See all about our trip right here.

Outer Banks, NC.

OBX is now my version of Disney World - the happiest place on earth. It’s a place that had always been very special to Chris and then became very special to us. The beaches are wide and open, the food is great, and it’s the perfect balance of civilization and I’m-gonna-just-go-in-the-hot-tub-and-ignore-the-world. We’ve gone again and again and again.

If you want to explore...

Seattle, WA.

My longtime readers may remember that I wasn’t thrilled with Downtown Seattle. Such a shame because I’m such a big Frasier fan. The food was eh (bad bread!), the people were a little snooty (snootier than Frasier), but those views were absolutely insane. West Seattle quite literally took my breath away and if the flight from Philly was shorter, I would consider going back sooner. I recommend getting lost in Lincoln Park. You won’t regret it.

Portland, OR.

Ah, Portland. So close to Seattle, yet so far (thank goodness). My husband immediately became obsessed. Not to toot my own horn, but I came up with a pretty in-depth roundup that should cover all your traveling bases right here. We didn’t make it out to do any hiking, but I heard it’s worth renting a car.

If you want a girls' trip...

Annapolis, MD.

La-la-la-laaaaadies, this is me and my best friend’s most favorite spot to travel together. It’s quaint and walkable, with good food and even better weather in the summer. Check out our time here and here. Don’t forget your sunset boat tour.

Charlottesville, VA.

I was spoiled rotten during my bachelorette in Charlottesville. I had never even heard of this city before, but after visiting with my girls I knew it was the perfect place for a ladies weekend. Once again, I did a really good job of rounding up every spot we hit up, so feel free to copy.

PS: More girls’ trip ideas here.

If you want even more…

New York, Chicago, Boston, New Orleans, Cape Cod, Florida - I’ve been! And I love ‘em all. I’ve barely scratched the surface of some cities (they’re just too great to master in one or two visits), but please please see if any of my recommendations work for you.

If you have any questions, shoot me an email! I love to talk travel agendas…who doesn’t? xx
