- #WeddingTalk: Our Engagement Story -
The afternoon before I got engaged, I could be found wandering around Kmart. I was trying to decide which old lady beach cover-up was more 'me.' As you can maybe-sort-of tell from the photo above, I chose the floor length fish print t-shirt dress. In white.
The night before I got engaged, I altered my Kmart find using cuticle scissors. I haphazardly created a new neckline and a slit - I have a bad habit of spontaneously cutting my clothes.
The morning I got engaged, we were doing a sunrise beach photoshoot for the blog. I tried to wear overalls. Chris gently suggested that I not wear the overalls. That maybe I should wear that new dress I spent an hour bedazzling the night before. With cuticle scissors.
Minutes before I got engaged, I ran into the ocean, Chris following me with his camera. While I played in the surf - strategically messing up both my makeup and my fish printed old lady dress - he ran back to the sand to change his lens. When I turned around, Chris was on one knee, holding my super awesome gotta-have-it engagement ring. I said, yes! I was so incredibly ecstatic. Excellent call on talking me out of the overalls, Chris.
A couple walking down the beach took this photo for us. Immediately afterwards we were evacuated because of a hurricane racing down the coast. But, that's a story for a different day.
