- No Makeup, No Problem -
I was thirteen the very first time I wore makeup. I chose a clear coconut lipgloss peppered with literal glitter. It was from Mary-Kate and Ashley's Walmart collection and I loved everything about it. I wore the most subtle pearly eyeshadow and a touch of mascara. My Covergirl powder foundation was barely there, but I was still so impressed with my eighth grade dance look. I was so glitter metallic Walmart chic. But it didn't define me.
When Chris suggested a no makeup photoshoot I hesitated. I was comfortable going without makeup to the pool, to the grocery store, and dancing around the apartment, but in photos? Ick. Blech.
I like to challenge myself, so eventually I gave in. After all, I spent most of my life sans makeup, in glasses, wearing my favorite pink sweatpants, and not really caring what people thought. Could I do it all again?
Thank you, Chris, for giving me the courage to be who I always am: really weird and usually not wearing any concealer.
