Fake a Nook.jpg

I am off-put by dining rooms. Maybe it's because I grew up in a cozy family of four, including my parents and brother. We shared one table for everything. By choice. I did my homework at our dining room table, painted my nails (sorry, Mom), ate cereal, complained about my day, and drew portraits all from the same seat.

Our family table was never seen as 'off-limits' or incredibly formal. As I peruse Pinterest searching for a table for Chris and me, I either find teeny cafe seating or a stuffy, grandiose dining set. After doing mounds of research (intense googling on a Friday night eating animal crackers), I fell in love with the idea of 'faking a nook.' Buckle up, ladies. This blew me away.

What about adding a pseudo couch to your dining set? Imagine either a luxurious upholstered bench or even a classic wooden pew with the comfiest pillows. Now imagine a dining set you don't hate (kitchen sets count!). Combine them. Voila, there's your nook! If you're not totally convinced, glance at the photo above.

We're still searching for our perfect furniture, but I've linked to pieces that I just can't get out of my head. What do you babes think - would you fake a nook? xx
