Holiday To Do (8 of 9).jpg

Haaaaaaappy holidays, babies! It's no secret that I decorated way early and I'm not even a little ashamed. Walking into a decked out Christmas palace (...apartment) when we arrived home was the biggest treat. Besides snuggling up by the tree and electric candles (thanks, Mom!), what are we doing this holiday?

1. Baking. As much as I love cake and brownies and cookies and muffins, can you believe that I have never really baked before? My maid of honor gifted my husband and me with matching aprons, which will be put to great use as I learn the ins and outs of baking. Or at least the basics ;) So far it's been my husband in the kitchen - homemade pretzels and chocolate cake.

2. Hot Cocoa Bar. Since I'm a novice in the kitchen (Chris generously calls me his sous chef), something no-bake is ideal for me. It's also an easy way to entertain on a weeknight - lay your favorites out on the table and fire up the kettle. A few goodies we like to indulge in are peppermint sticks, chocolate chips (duh), whipped cream, brownie bits, cookie crumbles, and yes, ice cream. Of course I keep a plethora of chocolate and caramel syrups on hand. My sugar addiction is real.

3. Book a Trip. It doesn't have to be anything too extravagant - even a day trip counts! Getting out of your everyday environment and experiencing the holiday spirit elsewhere can do wonders. We just booked a spontaneous trip to Boston. So spontaneous that I have yet to actually plan anything for it - stay tuned!

What are your holiday traditions, lovelies? xx
